There are various ways diet, one that is new is the Nordic diet. As the name implies, this diet adopted a diet of population in the Nordic countries consists of the consumption of foods low in fat and good for health and for weight control. Which belong to the Nordic countries include Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. This diet is low in sugar, low in fat, rich in fiber and is dominated by the consumption of fish, fisheries and seafood.
Here are foods that should be consumed and avoided when the Nordic diet:
- Foods that should be consistent and often consumed include fruits, as berries, vegetables, potatoes, whole grains, nuts, seeds, bread ingredients rye, fish, seafood, low-fat milk, herbs, spices and canola oil.
- The food was still allowed to consume include meats, cheeses, eggs were not of the farm and yogurt.
- The food should be limited consumption include other types of red meat and animal fats.
- Avoid consuming beverages altogether given artificial sweeteners, added sugars, processed meat, preservative food and fast food.
Nordic diet itself is very similar to the Mediterranean diet, and only distinguished by their use of oils for cooking food, using canola oil instead of extra virgin olive oil.

Nordic diet includes many foods that are good for the heart, so it can be believed also that the Nordic diet diet will help lower triglyceride levels and a little help control LDL or bad cholesterol in the body.
Their type of food is limited variations in the Nordic diet helps control blood sugar significantly so certainly reduce the risk of diabetes.
- Lower risk of inflammation
Various studies have been conducted on this diet showed reduced levels of inflammation in the body that follow this diet, although not significant.
